'12 Years a Slave' Wins Big at Critics Choice Awards

On the same night the 86th Annual Academy Awards nominations were announced, celebs gathered for yet another red carpet to attend the 2014 Critics' Choice Movie Awards hosted by Aisha Tyler in Santa Monica, Calif.

But it wasn't just who-won-what that made tonight's big show so entertaining. With Sandra Bullock and Bradley Cooper dropping F-bombs on stage to Cate Blanchett exclaiming that her children "don't give a s--t" what she does, viewers definitely had multiple reasons to stay glued to the TV screen.

But let's be real, everyone really wanted to know who took home Best Picture. And that accolade went to...

2 Years a Slave, which also snagged the award for Best Adapted Screenplay. In addition to that, the film's star Lupita Nyong'o took home Best Supporting Actress.

Although Steve McQueen's historic drama grabbed the top nod, it fell short to Bullock andGeorge Clooney's Gravity. The actors' out-of-this-world (literally) film was the top winner of the night, scoring a whopping seven awards. Following Alfonso Cuarón's movie wasAmerican Hustle, which won four awards.
