Carly Rae Jepsen has cut a deal with an little-known singer who claimed that the star ripped off one of her tunes for the hit "Good Time."
Ally Burnett filed a suit saying that Carly and Owl City lifted the hook from her 2010 song "Ah, It's a Love Song" for the track, but Carly opted to avoid a messy court fight by reaching a settlement for an unspecified amount of cash. Royalties from "Good Time" have been going into an escrow account since the suit was filed -- and as of now, the account totals just over $960,000, so Burnett could end up with a decent payday.
Owl City has vowed to continue to fight Burnett's allegations, so that part of the lawsuit will go on.
