The hunt for Christian Grey is back on. Charlie Hunnam has dropped out of the Fifty Shades of Grey movie.
The official reason given by Universal Studios was that the Sons of Anarchy star's "immersive TV schedule" hasn't been "allowing him time to adequately prepare" for the role. But according to reports, the British-born actor got "cold feet" about the raunchy role and dropped out.
When it was announced last month that Charlie would star opposite Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele, hard-core fans weren't happy. They started a petition, which has so far gotten more than 80,000 signatures, to remove both actors from the production.
Fan favorites for Christian Grey are Ian Somerhalder, Robert Pattinson, and Matt Bomer. We'll see if the fans get their way this time.
