Rod Stewart has a guest shot on Alejandro Fernandez's Confidencias, the final album produced by the legendary Phil Ramone, who passed away in March. Stewart trades verses with the Mexican vocalist on the blues standard "Nobody Knows You When You're Down and Out," with Rod singing in English while Fernandez croons in Spanish. Ramone co-produced Stewart's first two Great American Songbook recordings.
Stewart announced today (Monday) that in celebration of his 50th performance of Rod Stewart: The Hits, he's extended his residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas for another two years, beginning this fall. Rod wraps his summer run of performances there this week and has added nine new concerts at the theater from November 6th through 24th.
Stewart has also announced a new compilation titled Rarities, which will collect 24 alternate versions, non-LP singles, B-sides, studio outtakes and BBC Radio One performances from 1969 through '75, the period in which he recorded his first five discs for Mercury Records. The album hits stores September 3rd.
