The vine club

Tracy Weekdays 6 - 10pm

Hi, I'm Tracy,
Like most of the Vine DJs, I've been all over, living in South Dakota, Nebraska, Texas and more in my life.  I settled in Napa about ten years ago and have managed to plant a few little roots in my time here.  I've been working at The Vine for ten years as well and have covered almost every shift, but I like the nights best!  The best way to describe working at the Vine is that its like a family.  And in my case, that's not just a metaphor.  I met my husband here and we work together every day.  We also bring our baby, Violet (she's the one in the picture), and sometimes our dog, Cooper, to work with us every day.  If you come to my office, you will have to step over board books and dog beds!  When we're not at work, we like to go for long walks, watch movies and play in the garden.  I've also got a bit of an obsession with entertainment gossip, which tends to pop up a lot in my show!  But mostly, I just like playing Sauvignon Rock!

Spoiler Alert!

Spoilers.  As a pop culture enthusiast, I have mixed feelings about them.  While part of me likes to go into a movie or TV show not knowing how its going to end (unless its based on a book I've read), I still have a hard time staying away from them.  I think part of the reason is that I like to be current on what's going on in entertainment, but simply don't have the time or money to see every TV show and movie that sparks my interest in a timely manner.  So I turn to spoilers to make myself seem in the know, when I really only know what some guy leaked to the bloggers at Entertainment Weekly.  If I know I'm going to watch the said movie or TV show within a few days of airing, I will do my best to stay away from spoilers, but the farther away that viewing date is, the more likely I am to check out those articles that say 'spoilers ahead, don't read unless you've seen...'.
In fact, there are dozens of shows I've never watched, yet I know what happens on them because I can't stop myself from reading the spoilers.  Game of Thrones is a good example.  I knew most of what happened in the first and second season because I read the spoilers, assuming I'd never get around to watching the show (due to an unfortunate lack of HBO).  But, thanks to Netflix and a husband who spent the majority of my pregnancy reading the books, we started binge watching the first two seasons.  And yes, the big twists were a little bit lackluster because I knew they were coming.  But I still enjoyed the show and the little things the spoilers didn't cover.  You would think that this experience would teach me to look away when the season three spoilers started rolling in, but no, I am fully aware of the Red Wedding and what it entails (if you have more restraint than me and haven't heard what happens from Aaron Rodgers Twitter feed, good for you!).  However, I have managed to stay away from most of the other spoilers from the season... so far.  Its going to be a while before season three comes to DVD, I might need a fix!
There are some shows that I read spoilers for because I know I will never watch them.  Breaking Bad is probably the best example.  I find the premise of the show intriguing and the cast amazing, but I just can't make myself sit through the weekly erosion of the human spirit.  So I read what happens, marvel at the plot twists, and can make small talk at parties when the show comes up.  Its a win-win in my eyes.
Of course, its that need to be in the know that often gets me in trouble with said small talk.  If I run into a true fan, my ignorance rears its ugly head and I am forced to admit that I haven't seen the whole show, just some episodes.  Which is still an overstatement, but let's not get into semantics.
Anyway, that's my dirty little spoiler secret.  I can't stay away from them, so don't ask me to.  But I promise I will not spoil things for you, unless you have as little willpower as I do.
Anyone else have problems staying spoiler free?
