The Rolling Stones Head Home

The Rolling Stones wrapped up the North American leg of their 50 & Counting tour Monday night in Washington, D.C.

In all, they did 18 arena shows in 11 cities, one club show and the three arena dates (in Brooklyn, New York and Newark, New Jersey) at the end of last year for a total of 22 performances. It’s now onto England for their first-ever appearance at the Glastonbury festival June 29th, followed by gigs at London’s Hyde Park on July 6th and 13th.

For only the fourth time on this tour the Stones went without a special guest in D.C. even though Lenny Kravitz and members of One Direction were backstage. Otherwise, the 2013 leg featured 16 guests. They were, in order:

  • Gwen Stefani and Keith Urban in Los Angeles
  • Tom Waits in Oakland, California
  • John Fogerty and Bonnie Raitt in San Jose, California
  • Katy Perry in Las Vegas
  • John Mayer in Anaheim, California (first show)
  • Dave Grohl in Anaheim (second show)
  • Carrie Underwood in Toronto
  • Taj Mahal in Chicago (first show)
  • Sheryl Crow in Chicago (second show)
  • Taylor Swift in Chicago (third show)
  • Win Butler of Arcade Fire in Montreal
  • Gary Clark Junior in Boston
  • Brad Paisley in Philadelphia (first show)
  • Aaron Neville in Philadelphia (second show)

The Stones took the train from Philly to D.C.
