Cory Monteith died of a lethal combination of heroin and alcohol, according to an autopsy and toxicological analysis conducted by the British Columbia Coroners Service.
The Glee star's body was discovered at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel in Vancouver on Saturday. The 31-year-old had struggled with addiction since his early teens and had been to rehab earlier this year.
Cory's girlfriend and Glee co-star Lea Michele issued a statement via her reps Tuesday after the autopsy results were announced. The statement, obtained by People magazine, reads, "Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and support she’s received from family, friends, and fans. Since Cory’s passing, Lea has been grieving alongside his family and making appropriate arrangements with them. They are supporting each other as they endure this profound loss together. We continue to ask the media to respect the privacy of Lea and Cory's family."
