Maroon 5 will welcome back an old friend when they start their next album.
Keyboardist Jesse Carmichael, who took a hiatus from the band after they finishedOverexposed, will be returning to their lineup when they gear up to work on a new album next year. Guitarist James Valentine tells Billboard that Carmichael won't be touring with the band until that next album is released.
Valentine explains, "We figured that was the most simple way to do it. It's an unusual sort of thing, I guess, but there's no clear rules as to how to do that. I think it's completely understandable he wanted to get off the carousel for a second, but I do get the impression that he's eager to get back."
