Good thing Kelly Clarkson has a new engagement ring, because the British government isn't allowing her to take a historically important gold band that she bought out of the country.
Kel bought the ring, which was owned by famed author Jane Austen, at an auction last year, plunking down about $300,000. But British culture minister Ed Vaizey has stepped in and put a hold on the sale, claiming the ring is of historical importance and belongs in a museum.
A court has until September 30th to decide whether to void the sale.
