Passion Pit had about 75 percent of their live gear destroyed during a storm in Chicago over the weekend.
The "Take a Walk" band was just about to take the stage at the North Coast Music Festival when the storm came through, trashing a lot of vintage gear. The group ended up doing a DJ set for the fans who were left, and did the same thing at shows on Saturday in Calgary and Sunday in Edmonton.
Passion Pit wrote on their website that they plan on playing make-up shows in all three cities as soon as possible. They added, "As a touring band that is proud to actually perform electro-pop as opposed to just pressing play, using many keyboards, both analog and digital, this is a nightmare we've had for quite some time. It's almost incredible that it hasn't happened already."
