Bloomingdale's Celebrating 50th Anniversary Of Beatlemania

Next February marks 50 years since the first wave of Beatlemania gripped America, and the Fab Four are still being celebrated as fashion icons. For proof, look no further than upscale retailer Bloomingdale's, which is launching Beatles pop-up stores inside L.A.-area, San Francisco, New York-area, Miami, Chicago and Atlanta outlets.

From mid-September through the beginning of November the stores will be offering a collection of Beatles-related clothing and accessories, including:

  • designer suits, coats, jackets, sweaters and dress shirts featuring various Beatles-inspired elements
  • t-shirts in a dozen different designs
  • scarves, cufflinks and umbrellas based on Beatles designs
  • a series of pocket squares featuring the design of all the band's album covers
  • various rare Beatles photographs

The clothing ranges in price from the $54 t-shirts to a Burburry wool cashmere coat for $1,695. A Paul Smith-designed suit lined with the Abbey Road album cover photo goes for $1,084.

Plus, there will be ticket giveaways, book signings by Beatles' author Mark Lewisohn and roundtable discussions featuring such Beatle experts as film-maker Albert Maysles, record producer and engineerKen ScottPeter Asher of Peter and Gordon and Dramarama bassist Chris Carter, who hosts aBreakfast With the Beatles radio show in L.A.
