Bruno Mars Performing At Super Bowl Half Time Show

It's only the beginning of the season and there is plenty of football in store for fans, but we know one thing for sure: Bruno Mars is going to the Super Bowl!

The Grammy-award winner has been tapped to perform at the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show, the NFL announced Sunday.

The "Treasure" crooner tweeted his excitement to his followers after the announcement saying, "WE'RE GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL!!!!!!! #PepsiSBHalftime"

Mars has sold more than 115 million singles worldwide and his "current albumUnorthodox Jukebox and his debut albumDoo-Wops & Hooligans have a combined certification total of 60x platinum worldwide," according to a press release from the NFL.

Mars will join the A-list likes of Beyoncé,Madonna, the Black Eyed PeasThe Who, Bruce SpringsteenTom PettyPrince, theRolling StonesPaul McCartneyU2 and—who can forget?—Janet Jackson as halftime entertainment.

More than 110.5 million viewers in the U.S. watched last year's show when Beyoncéperformed and reunited with Destiny's Child.

Super Bowl XLVIII will take place Feb. 2, 2014 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
