Fans of the NFL's Cincinnati Bengals have spoken -- and the team has punted Katy Perry's "Roar" as its opening theme music.
The team just adopted Katy's hit as its pre-game entrance song, but immediately started getting nasty feedback from diehards who thought it wasn't tough enough. After a huge outcry on Twitter and Facebook, the Bengals decided to go old-school with T.I.s 2004 track "Bring 'Em Out."
Jeff Berding, the Bengals’ director of sales and public affairs, tells the Wall Street Journal, “I think some fans proved that there’s an expectation that when the team takes the field, there should be more of a hard-rock song, and I know that’s what we’re going to do. Katy Perry is not going to be the last song you hear before the team takes the field.”
For the record, the song switch did some good. Cincy beat the Green Bay Packers, 34-to-30.
