Jennifer Lawrence is an outgoing and confident woman, but that wasn't always the case.
The Hunger Games star tells the French magazine Madame Figaro that she once suffered from social anxiety. "When my mother talks about my childhood, she always says there was a light within me. When I went to school, this light went out."
Jennifer says she "went to see a shrink," but "nothing worked." That is, until she hit the stage. She says acting "made me happy because I felt capable whereas before I felt good for nothing. This is why mom fought for me to become an actress."
The second Hunger Games movie, Catching Fire, opens Friday.
