Lady Gaga's New Album Debuts at the Top

As expected, Lady Gaga's ARTPOP snared the top spot on the Billboard album chart this week, selling 258,000 copies, according to SoundScan figures.

ARTPOP is Gaga's second number-one debut in a row, but it didn't come close to matching the bow of 2011's Born This Way, which sold more than 1.1 million copies in its first week of release. (Album sales numbers in general have been steadily declining in recent years.)

Last week's chart-topper, Eminem'The Marshall Mathers LP 2, slips to the second position, followed by Now That’s What I Call Music Volume 48. The Duck Dynasty crew’s Duck the Halls: A Robertson Family Christmas and Katy Perry’Prism round out the Top 5.
