Bruno Mars is the king of Super Bowl halftime.
His set with Red Hot Chili Peppers attracted the largest audience in the history of the Super Bowl, with FOX announcing that 115.3-million viewers tuned in. That beats the prior record of 114-million set by Madonna two years ago and the 110.8-million who tuned in to see Beyonce last year.
The telecast has given Mars' 2012 album Unorthodox Jukebox a huge boost, as Billboard reports that its estimated to have sold close to 40,000 copies in the week ending Sunday. That would be a 160-percent jump over the previous week. The official figures will be released Wednesday. If the estimates hold true,Unorthodox Jukebox would be back in the Top 10 for the first time since September of last year.
Mars also just announced a new leg of his Moonshine Jungle Tour, which will stop at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on May 31st and June 1st.
