Elton John's 22nd annual post-Oscars bash last night (Sunday) raised $5.1-million for the fight against HIV/AIDS.
In addition to Sir Elton, musician attendees included Elton's lyricist Bernie Taupin, Heart's Ann andNancy Wilson, Aerosmith's Steven Tyler, Quincy Jones, Sheryl Crow, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Ozzyand Sharon Osbourne, 'N Sync's Lance Bass and JC Chasez, Kelly Rowland, Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds and Britney Spears.
Current Elton favorite Ed Sheeran performed at the party, doing his hits "The A Team" and "Lego House," and duetting with the host on "Candle in the Wind."
A fundraising auction included such items as:
- a piano signed by Elton John and Bernie Taupin, which Elton performed a few songs on before it sold for $220,000
- five days at Steven Tyler’s Hawaiian retreat, which brought in $100,000
- a print of Elton John and John Lennon taken in 1974 and signed by the photographer, Bob Gruen
Other celebrity guests included Jane Fonda, Robert De Niro, Jane Seymour, Whoopi Goldberg, Tim Allen, Neil Patrick Harris, Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski, and a handful of Kardashians.
