Noah is stirring up controversy, attracting criticism from both Muslims and Christians for its portrayal of Biblical and Islamic figure Noah.
The reported $75 million film, which stars Russell Crowe as Noah and Jennifer Connelly as Noah's wife Naameh, has been banned in the United Arab Emirates, according to Fox News, for its onscreen portrayal of the prophet, which is a general taboo in Islam.
"There are scenes that contradict Islam and the Bible, so we decided not to show it," the director of media content at the National Media Center in the United Arab Emirates, Juma Al-Leem said. "It is important to respect these religions and not show the film."
Additionally, Fox News reported that Qatar and Bahrain will also censor the film.
