Captain America star Chris Evans is ready to hang up his shield and leave acting behind.
The 32-year-old says once his six-film contract with Marvel is up, he's going to focus on directing. He tells Variety, "I've known for a while I wanted to direct. But [time] never really opens up. There's another movie to do, there's another acting job. It just got to a point where I was like, 'You know what -- I have to do this.'"
Chris found the time this winter, when he directed his debut feature, a love story tentatively titled 1:30 Train.
His third turn as Captain America, The Winter Soldier, comes out April 4th. He's currently shooting theAvengers sequel. So that leaves him with at least two more appearances as Cap. He figures he'll be done by 2017.
