Louis “Bob” Trinchero has seen the Napa Valley wine business blossom since his uncle bought the long-shuttered Sutter Home winery in St. Helena in 1947 and the family business rocket to fourth-largest wine business in the country on the serendipitous coattails of white zinfandel and a move into higher-end wine.

Now 81 and fully retired from running Trinchero Wine Estates, he and his wife, Evalyn, celebrated their 61st anniversary this year. Beyond their impact on the wine business, they have contributed to a number of local causes, including millions of dollars for St. Helena Hospital, Boys & Girls Club of St. Helena and Calistoga and OLE Health.

Bob Trinchero is set to have an in-depth conversation at the Business Journal’s Impact Napa conference on Aug. 30 in Napa. He’ll be talking with Richard Mendelson, a wine industry attorney with Dickenson Peatman & Fogarty in Napa.
