Sharpie - Napa News / 7 - 10pm

I picked up the nickname "Sharpie" years ago when I worked at KISW in Seattle, Wa. Afternoon DJ Gary Crow was a fan of the TV show "CPO Sharkey". My last name was Sharp, so Gary dubbed me CPO Sharpie and finally just Sharpie. It stuck.

When I am not acting as General Manager of KVYN/KVON I do the Napa Valley News. I try to give you a quick update every hour during weekdays about what is going on in the Napa Valley. If you have news you would like to share, please email me at larry@winecountrybroadcasting.com

A Rainy Day,

by Sharpie posted Mar 3 2014 2:54PM
I woke up last Friday morning at about 3:30AM as a 35MPH gust roared by my place, knocking the power out. Ah, but the sound of rain hitting the windows sounded good. I know these gray days seem kind of dreary, but I love seeing the green come back to our  hills. It is one of the endearing things about living in the "Golden State". Seeing those golden (some would say brown) hills turn green in the winter is a real treat.

Don't lament the rain. It is good for us. The sunny, warm days will be here soon enough... and so will the "golden" hills.
