I’ll never forget my very first visit to the greatest city in California and one of the top 10 in the world (IMHO).  I came out to Northern California as a sheltered 19-year-old to hang out with my sister who was just finishing up her senior year in college.  I helped her write her final term papers and assisted in her senior project.  But I also had the good fortune to be invited to spend the day in San Francisco with a young man named David.  I was excited and in awe of everything I saw … from Fishermen’s Wharf to China Town, from Union Square, Coit Tower and Pier 39 to the top of the mountains where radio transmitters lived.  Yes, we did the cliche tour.  Over the years, David and I spent many days exploring the city … alot on foot and we did return to the tourist hot spots, but we also discovered small theaters where we could catch old movies; we walked along the ocean beach front and investigated Golden Gate Park.  We frequented our favorite restaurant – The Magic Pan at Ghiradelli Square.  And one Christmas we fell in love as we strolled through Pier 39 looking at all of the decorations.  We still try to visit The City when we can.  Just last summer we took Amtrak from Sacramento into San Francisco for a chocolate tasting event!  But now I’ve just been given another reason to take the city tour.  Check out the link HERE or from the above picture and plan another day or several and see the greatest city in the world in a brand new way.  I plan to soon … with my best friend and husband, David!
