Nashville has always had a strong wine community, evidenced by the millions of dollars that organizations like the Nashville Wine Auction have raised through the years. So it’s no surprise that members of this community have quickly mobilized to look for ways to come to the aid of the winemakers of the region who have brought so much joy to oenophiles.

The first opportunity for you to contribute will occur on Saturday, Dec. 2, at Biscuit Love in Hillsboro Village. Owners Karl and Sarah Worley have partnered with Italics Winery and invited a bunch of their friends to throw a fundraising soirée. The four-course dinner will be a collaborative effort by the Worleys, Andy Little (Josephine, Prima), Rob D Newton (Nightingale 9, Wilma Jean) and Lisa White (Marsh House). Each course will be paired with wine from Italics Winery.

In addition to contributing the efforts of pastry chef extraordinaire Lisa White to the Biscuit Love event, Marsh House and its sister restaurant at the Thompson Hotel have planned their own fundraiser slated for Wednesday, Dec. 6, from 7 until 9:30 p.m. Winemakers and Sommeliers California Wildfire Relief will bring together local chefs, sommeliers and lovers of all things California for an evening of food, wine and fundraising.

The event will feature a walk-around tasting of small bites cooked up by an impressive roster of local chefs as well as pairings provided by California wineries ranging from Withers Rose to Hirsch Pinot Noir and Scribe Estate Riesling, all poured by esteemed members of the Nashville sommelier community.
