We feel music in our ears and our souls. And no amount of words can replace actually tasting a wine and feeling the way a wine can dance inside us our mouths and our noses.

And yet, even though no words can compare to listening to a great piece of music or drinking a sublime glass of wine, both of them bring out the poet in many of us.

All of us also have such personal tastes when it comes to music and wine. For everyone who loves Merlot and Mahler, there’s probably some sicko out there who loves Zinfandel and Rob Zombie. I personally like all four. Draw your own conclusions.

Even a lot of the same words people use to talk about wine often comes up when people talk about music.

Bold and brash could just as easily be used to describe a big, red wine from Burgundy or a Beethoven symphony.

Soft and subtle? A Schumann sonata or a white wine from Sancerre.
