Pat Kuleto set out to build a ‘fantasy home’ after his ranch in California’s Gold Country region burned down. He looked to St. Helena in the Napa Valley for a new home he could surround with vineyards. He bought a parcel of land in 1992 for $3 million and lived in a hunting shack on site for two years before beginning construction.
