CJ Weekdays 10am - 2pm

I’ve lived in several states like Texas, Maryland and Wisconsin but when I came out to California for college and met my husband in the Napa Valley I married him and never left!  I’m most proud of the three amazing kids I’ve managed not to screw up and I love seeing where life is taking them as they move into adulthood.  But other things that make me happy include running half-marathons, bike riding, and BBQ’s in the summer.

Then there’s this whole radio thing – I’ve had such a great time connecting with the listeners and making their day by playing a great song, sharing relatable stories about what I’ve seen, heard or read and  especially being able to tell them they’ve won a fabulous prize from one of our contests!  Every day is unpredictable and I’m thankful we can experience our days together on Napa Valley’s Sauvignon Rock.

Dogs Just Wanna Give Love!

Napa Valley radio has been around since at least the late 50's or early 60's.  With the station in the community that long, you're bound to run into someone who "used to work at the radio station," much to the amusement of our general manager Larry Sharp.  My husband is one those who got their start in radio in Napa so I asked him if the station mascot was there back in the 70's when he was hanging around.  "Yes," he said.  "I think it sat in Tom Young's office."  "Did the dog have a name?" I queried.  "I don't know," he said,  "But he's been hanging around for a long, long time."  Over the years said station mascot has amused many a child and adults too, who've come through the station doors.  The latest is this look alike from Napa Humane.  Aspen visited last Thursday during the Thursday morning segment on GMB.  Aspen's beackstory is heartbreaking, but one that I sincerely hope ends with second chances.  This beautiful white bulldog was discovered on a pile of rags in American Canyon two days before Christmas, emaciated, full of bugs and scabs.  Napa Humane has brought Aspen back into full health, and she was looking for her forever home on Thursday, as the featured pet of the week.  I've heard it said that dogs who are rescued from the streets, and showered with love, food and treatment are the sweetest, full of gratitude and a heart full of love and loyalty.  That came through in the few minutes that I spent with Aspen.  She was gentle, patient, curious and lovable.  I hope she's already found her forever home, but you should check with Napa Humane.  You won't regret bringing this darling into your lives.  But if she has been adopted, there are many more lovable animals looking for their second chance, and your chance to give it to them.
